The Moon, Time Clock And Weather

The moon goes through twelve stages in the sky from new moon in the west to the full moon in the east which form the basis of human and natural time keeping.

Time keeping is an important part of operational principles not just in human life but also in nature. Both human and natural clocks are based on and synchronized to an orbital stepper process in which the moon is overtaken by the earth's rotation in its movement across the sky.
The fact that the earth's rotation and the moon's orbit move in the same direction, west to east, they do not move at the same speed. The earth rotates faster overtaking the moon and abandoning it at a specific spot in the evening sky. This effect of overtaking the moon make it appear to set in the west while in reality it is moving from west to east. By the next day's evening, the slow moon has shifted its position again to appear at another point. These shifting positions of the moon in the sky form the foundation of our clock, the hour, which is the time the sun takes to cross the points.

The moon has twelve stages from the first moon in the west to the full moon in the east. They are not coherent but alternate with season and time of the year with slight variations of a day, two or three in which we also adjust our clocks and calendar.

These twelve positions of the moon across the evening sky mark the  position of the sun in respective time.

The biological clock is based on certain forms of lifestyles or way of life i.e, sleep and wake up and life through the seasons with gestation period of creatures and species determined through the same seasons and breeding determined by other factors such as availability of food and water in a time of the year.

Although the moon has similar positions for the day, the evening positions are the preference for clarity and move clockwise when viewed from the southern perspective.

By an interesting coincidence, the Earth's orbit round the sun also follow the twelve steps to create twelve months in a year which control our seasons and weather. This creates an even deeper application for the twelve step process.

All creatures' lives and growth are controlled through seasons which determine many things in their lives. This means, the genetic clocks of living things are also synchronized to this twelve step pattern. The best example is the human genetic clock which limits human lifespan to (within) the twelve step age bracket, with each step representing a decade and making humans live a maximum of twelve decades,  around one hundred and twenty years.

In general literature, a tree records all its life period and age in its trunk in form of rings. The number of rings in a tree trunk represent its age in years.

The size of individual rings depends on the patterns of individual seasons; length of the winter or summer at the time mainly determine a rings size. Their increase ultimately triggers the biological clock to control the tree growth. In the same manner, the biological clock of animal species also regulates their growth.

This twelve step phenomenon is not just for the moon alone, but has other connections with gravitational orbital rhythms of the solar system and the cosmos in general.
